Early edition. Not dated but inscription dated August1915. Book was a presentation copy from the Wirral Girl Guides to newly born Heather Grace Baden-Powell, daughter of the founder of scouting. The book has been well-used, all plates are intact, but the Simple Simon illustration has been removed and stuck to the fep. Pages 71-74 loose, but laid in. Gilt intact, but wear to covers and spine.

Spine intact but lifting at top and bottom edges, front cover bumped along centre, contents clean and bright, but hinge exposed on two pages. beautiful illustrations, (in brown orange and blue). Neat gift inscription dated 1927. A missionary text, "to the Mother" at the rear of the book explains the purpose is to encourage children in the "west" to remember children in the "East" in their "baby prayers".
